I’m Arthur Hansen, a data and AI consultant with more than a decade of experience designing and realising data strategies. Since 2012 I’ve worked at the intersection of technology and decision-making with boards and executive teams of leading organisations.

How Rituals elevated its data challenge and became ready for international growth and AI

Challenge
Rituals wanted to accelerate growth while laying the foundation for large-scale AI. The data landscape, with more than 80 tools and a growing team, needed structure, focus, and vision.
Approach
Together with the CTO I designed the data strategy and laid the foundation for one central data platform. The team grew in a controlled way from 15 to 56 specialists, organised into seven teams, with clear rules for privacy, security, and access.

As Data and AI strategist, I developed the data strategy and AI vision together with the CFO, CEO, and executive team. The vision is embedded in the multi-year plan and translated into a roadmap that provides direction and is executable. In parallel, the first pilots started with AI assistants tailored to different roles across the organisation — from leadership to teams.

How bol.com brought its financial foundation to the cloud — and moved ahead in a sector-shaping transition

Challenge
The task for bol.com was to modernise finance and controlling reports. The organisation wanted speed and scalability but still worked with a traditional on-premises landscape. The financial structures were complex, so the transition had to be flawless and future-oriented.
Approach
Within the BI team, drawing on my experience at Unilever in complex financial environments, I guided the transition and built the first cloud models for finance and controlling. This laid the basis for reliable and scalable cloud reporting. We rapidly translated existing processes into a modern infrastructure, enabling bol.com to lead the move to the cloud.
